The Little Patriots Childcare Program has been a successful academy at American Senior High for over 15 years. In the years prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, this innovative service has given teachers and community members the ability to take their children to a State of Florida-certified childcare institute. The Little Patriots program, with a monthly cost below $300, not only provides an affordable alternative to local childcare options, but also creates a teaching environment for high school students looking for careers in Early Childhood Development. The children enrolled in this program engage in activities that have been designed to maximize their potential and give them the head-start most parents want for their children. It has been proposed that this program be restarted for the 2022-2023 school year and parents seeking quality, low-cost childcare will once again have a school-based choice.
